I have worked in several pairs of heavy gloves and this is my favorite pair. They fit best and are the most comfortable. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I have a weekend wood-cutting business. Typically, we cut about 20 cords of firewood over a 3-month period. With all the chainsawing, chain-sharpening, wood-splitting and wood-stacking we do, I usually have to replace my leather gloves every 2 weeks because I've worn holes in the fingertips. Although I've only been using these Youngstown kevlar gloves for the past few weeks, they are holding up beautifully -- MUCH better than leather, and much more comfortable, too. Another plus with these gloves is that since they're not made of leather, they don't suck all the moisture from my hands, leaving my skin feeling like sandpaper, which leather gloves always do. I LOVE them, and from now on will only buy these gloves.

I was looking for something to use while shucking oysters, which I am just learning to do. These work quite well, are very comfortable, and I now wear them all the time when I need hand protection.

Need puncture proof gloves due to several hidden thorny vines while clipping 140 yards of fence. Youngstown gloves are light weight and allow firm grip on shears, pole saw, machete, limbs, vines. Convenient velcro wrist straps.
Tough Gloves December 24, 2009

When I purchased these cut-resistant gloves, I was looking for hand protection to tackle the really tough jobs in my backyard. I was not disappointed. These gloves look and feel tough. While the backs and the cuffs of the gloves are made of stretchable Spandex and the rest of the gloves synthetic leather, the palms, the undersides of the fingers, and the fingertips are extensively reinforced with thick & gritty material. The insides of the gloves are lined with Kevlar. The backs of the thumbs are covered with terry cloth. Supposedly, I can wipe the sweat off my brow with them, but I never did; I preferred paper towels. There are Velcro bands at the cuffs to better secure the gloves on my hands.
Awhile back, I fixed the cover of my wooden dove feeder in my backyard and I was wearing these Youngstown gloves for the first time. They fitted my hands snugly (perhaps a tad too much), so much so that I was able to handle the screws with my gloved fingers. I did not see any damage to my Youngstown gloves after the job was done. They were as tough as the seller described them.
